Comment re: Round 2

What can the client do to help the organization market their property?

Would also like to say thank you to you and the organization for answering the questions I have had so far.

I have read everything on this paticular website to become familiar with the program. I understand the resources and networking the organization uses to market the property but not sure how the networking is done to promote the marketing.

Thanks.

Advertising V.S. Marketing Round 2

Advertising is a single component of the marketing process.

It's the part that involves getting the word out concerning your business, product, or the services you are offering. It involves the process of developing strategies such as ad placement, frequency, etc. Advertising includes the placement of an ad in such mediums as newspapers, direct mail, billboards, television, radio, and of course the Internet. Advertising is the largest expense of most marketing plans, with public relations following in a close second and market research not falling far behind.
The best way to distinguish between advertising and marketing is to think of marketing as a pie, inside that pie you have slices of advertising, market research, media planning, public relations, product pricing, distribution, customer support, sales strategy, and community involvement. Advertising only equals one piece of the pie in the strategy. All of these elements must not only work independently but they also must work together towards the bigger goal. Marketing is a process that takes time and can involve hours of research for a marketing plan to be effective. Think of marketing as everything that an organization does to facilitate an exchange between company and consumer.

Advertising V.S. Marketing

You will often find that many people confuse marketing with advertising or vice versa. While both components are important they are very different. Knowing the difference and doing your market research can you on the path to substantial growth.
Let's start off by reviewing the formal definitions of each and then I'll go into the explanation of how marketing and advertising are very different from one another:

Advertising V.S. Marketing Round 1

Advertising: The paid, public, non-personal announcement of a persuasive message by an identified sponsor; the non-personal presentation or promotion by a firm of its products to its existing and potential customers.

Marketing: The systematic planning, implementation and control of a mix of business activities intended to bring together buyers and sellers for the mutually advantageous exchange or transfer of products.

After reading both of the definitions it is easy to understand how the difference can be confusing to the point that people think of them as one-in-the same, so lets break it down a bit.

Banking points when timeshare is for rent and for sale

Our Timeshare is associated with points. If we do not use the points for the year we can bank them. Is this something that we need to do since it is for sale and for rent?

Timeshare Points

It is at your discretion if you choose to bank your points and include it with the sale or rent of your timeshare. Be sure to check with your point membership to confirm that points are able to be transfered.

Here is some information regarding points:

Each Points affiliated resort system has its own Points program. For instance, generally in order to be a member of the RCI Points System, you must own timeshare at an RCI Points resort; for Wyndham Points, you must own at a Wyndham Resort, etc. Most Points are transferable; however, some restrictions may apply.

Points valuations within a Points System are typically based on variables that include location and quality of the resort, amenities, unit configuration, season (time of year), regional demand, etc.

Points Systems typically are valued differently. For example, Sunterra timeshare and Bluegreen timeshare Points are valued in single thousands of Points; RCI Points are valued in the tens of thousands of Points; Wyndham Points are valued in the hundreds of thousands to millions of Points; etc.

We have a timeshare for resale with your timeshare division. Can we also list it for rent with your timeshare division?

Marketing Timeshare for Rent

Traditional advertising companies use internet listings. We do not list timeshares for sale or rent. We market timeshares for sale or rent. Utilizing our unique position in a global marketplace we maximize the potential of interested parties.
